Description

Divide a Festoon Series power supply into two lighting runs with the Connectable Y Cord Connector. It allows separate areas to be illuminated from one starter cable, providing flexible distribution for home and commercial displays.

Connections and construction

Durable waterproof black rubber cable measures 1.2m overall, with each arm providing 50cm of reach. Fit it directly to a Festoon Series starter cable or anywhere along a Festoon Series belt to branch the lighting in two directions.

The connector works with all Festoon Series belts, bulbs and accessories, sold separately, for customised indoor and outdoor layouts. When installed outdoors, keep the mains power plug indoors or in a suitable waterproof box.

Capacity limits

The combined length, number of belts and LED bulb count allowed on a single starter cable still depend on bulb wattage. Splitting the cable does not raise this limit; check the relevant Power Usage specifications.

For example, if the selected bulbs permit up to 400 bulbs on one cable, use 200 per branch or split them into 300 and 100. The combined total must stay within 400 bulbs. An uneven load may make the branch carrying fewer LEDs look slightly brighter.

Waterproof rubber construction supports lasting outdoor use. The connector offers a practical way to expand a layout while keeping two separate lighting runs on one compatible power feed.

Position the branch point where the layout needs to divide, whether close to the starter cable or farther along a belt. This makes it possible to light separate parts of the setting with one supply while retaining the flexibility of the connectable Festoon Series system.
